THE RESIDENTS - An Original Limited Edition Linocut (Series of 15)

Regular price $250.00 Sale

An original hand carved & printed 8" x 10" linoleum block printed on acid free heavy 9" x 12" Bristol board with Speedball Water-based ink, signed and numbered by eccentric artist Brian A. Bernhard, inspired by one of the most epic art rock bands of all time - THE RESIDENTS!

If you don't know The Residents, please research them, your life will be forever changed. I know mine was! My gateway into their world was the 1991 Primus cover album "Miscellaneous Debris", featuring cover songs of Peter Gabriel, XTC, The Meters, Pink Floyd and of course The Residents. My discovery came at a time when music stores were huge, and they had stations where one could bring a stack of albums and just listen all day long. At this period I was devouring everything that Les Claypool (bass player and front person for Primus) created, and I was on a missing to learn about his inspirations. I wanted to find out what would make him pick these artists to cover.

The first Residents album I grabbed was "Freak Show", I had always been fascinated by carnival and side show, so this called to me, I spiraled down the eyeball rabbit hole and have never turned back! I have collected every album of theirs I've been able to afford, contributed to their Kickstarters when finances have allowed, and had the good fortune to see them perform like during their Wormwood, Icky Flix, Demons Dance Alone, The Bunny Boy & Talking Light tours; each one a live changing experience!

Needless to say, this is a tribute piece of art that has been a long time in the making, and means everything to me to have finally been able to give birth to it.

Given the nature of block printing by hand, each print is unique, there are subtle shifts in ink color between blue tones, purple tones and red tones within the black ink which intentionally shift from print to print, making each print one-of-a-kind. Make sure you scroll through each image to find the print number that calls out to you! I photographed these prints under my drafting table light from relatively the same angle, and did absolutely no retouching on the image. Remember there are only 15 in this series, so get these suckers while they are fresh off the press, because when they are gone ... they are gone!

Each print comes with a hand-carved, hand printed, one-of-a-kind signed and numbered certificate of authenticity.

Additionally, given the cost of investment, I will add the USPS insurance for FREE for each print shipped! Also, fulfillment of our original limited edition art prints is always done by me (Brian), in person to make sure it will get to you safely. I will literally package it by hand myself and walk it directly to the post office.

Remember, if you can come to our gallery in San Pedro to collect yours, you wont have to pay for shipping, and we will generally have at least one framed with a custom matte, ready to hang on your wall!
